SCL PROFILES

Food Intolerance is your body’s abnormal reaction to certain foods by activating specific IgG antibodies. Some people will have one symptom such as a severe headache whilst others will be unfortunate to experience irritable bowel syndrome, migraine and skin or respiratory conditions. Food intolerance testing identifies which foods may be causing your symptoms.
Sexually transmitted diseases can cause complications such as; Infertility in both sexes, Pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) in women and Cervical cancer. STDs can increase your risk of acquiring another STD such as HIV therefore testing by PCR is the most accurate way of detecting STDs for correct treatment.
Human papillomavirus is a common virus affecting both males and females that is transmitted from person to person through physical contact. HPV infection can also lead to genital warts, cervical pre-cancer, and sometimes to cervical cancer. Testing for HPV by PCR accurately identifies which strain of HPV is present and helps your health provider advice the next best step for you.
Allergies are hypersensitive immune responses to substances that either enter or come in contact with the body, such as pet dander, pollen or bee venom. Allergic reactions may occur in the gut (digestive system), skin, sinuses, airways, eyes, and nasal passages and can vary considerably in their severity and some can be fatal. Testing can help eliminate allergic episodes by avoiding specific substances.
The Celiac Profile tests for celiac disease in patients.  Celiac disease is an autoimmune disorder where consuming gluten causes the patient a wide range of symptoms that can vary from gastrointestinal discomfort to unexplained infertility. Identifying those suffering from celiac disease helps patients to exclude gluten from their diet and prevent negative health impacts.
Non Invasive Prenatal testing analyses cell-free DNA circulating in the pregnant mother’s blood. It is a new option in prenatal screening for Down syndrome (trisomy 21) and other common chromosomal conditions (trisomies 18 and 13), X and Y chromosome conditions. During pregnancy, some of the DNA from the baby crosses into the mother’s bloodstream. NIPT looks at this DNA to see if there is evidence of certain conditions that could affect the baby’s health.
Newborn (blood spot) screening involves taking a blood sample (heel prick) to find out if a baby has one of some rare but serious health conditions.  Most babies screened won’t have any of these conditions but, for the few who do, the benefits of screening are enormous. Early treatment can improve their health and prevent severe disability, and even death.
DNA testing is the latest innovation in nutritional and lifestyle solutions. Individualized DNA based results can help reveal factors causing weight gain and guide individuals to leading a healthy lifestyle with the correct diet and exercise program.
Calprotectin is used to detect inflammation in the intestines; to distinguish between inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and non-inflammatory bowel conditions. Symptoms can include: Bloody or watery diarrhea, abdominal cramps and or Weight loss.
BRCA1 and BRCA2 are human genes that produce tumor suppressor proteins. These proteins help repair damaged DNA and, therefore, play a role in ensuring the stability of the cell’s genetic material. Specific inherited mutations in BRCA1 and BRCA2 increase the risk of female breast and ovarian cancers. Early testing can help identify those as risk and start making important lifestyle changes.
Tumor Markers are used in the detection, diagnosis and management of some types of cancer such as Prostate, lung, colon or ovarian cancers. Measurements before treatment can help practitioners determine the appropriate therapy.
Respiratory Tract Infections that are caused by dozens of respiratory viral & bacterial pathogens are commonly occurred in symptomatic adults and pediatric patients. Detecting both viral and bacterial pathogens simultaneously is suitable for determining the source of infection accurately to improve individual patient care and to prevent misuse or over-dose of antibiotics.
